Responsible for the evaluation of submitted manuscripts from a wide breadth of scientific disciplines, at the largest international open access journal in the world. Excellent knowledge of editorial guidelines and publication processes. Able to balance a work load of 25+ manuscripts per day with additional responsibilities including judging appeals and resubmission cases, special collections and involvement in the animal ethics editorial group.

Research focused on developing an amplification system for the growth of an uncultivatable bacteria. Responsible for writing and submitting key documents and licenses. Managed an international PhD student and undergraduate student. Set up international collaborations.

Supervised by Dr. Séverine Tasker, Dr. Christopher Helps and Professor Christopher Stokes
Taken first steps towards the development of a vaccine candidate to a pathogenic uncultivatable microorganism. Worked abroad at the University of Zurich for 6 months. Developed and led collaborations both nationally and internationally with academics and industry. Published numerous papers in highly regarded specialised journals. Nominated for the faculty 2014-2015 best thesis award. Awarded prize for best student presentation at national and international conferences. Selected to chair a knowledge sharing faculty-wide organisation promoting active discussion of recent papers to foster innovation in the department. Responsible for reporting to the head of School, acting as the voice of all postgraduate students in the School. Chosen to teach undergraduate students diagnostic procedures as a lab tutor.

Awarded prize for student with highest achievement over three-year undergraduate degree (B. Sc. Veterinary Pathogenesis 2011). Elected as “student parent” to inspire and nurture incoming students.

Outside Interests:
• Horse riding: Experienced rider with a passion for dressage. Train young horses through to affiliated competition horses. Enjoy competing at British Dressage events on my own horse, and as assistant rider to a professional sponsored dressage rider.
• Rowing: Rowed throughout undergraduate degree at a very high level, making the first women’s senior boat in all years, and winning many top regattas, including British University Championships and Henley Women’s Regatta. Able to work very well in a competitive team, motivate self and others, and work well under pressure. Demonstrated high levels of commitment and time management, shown by the ability to train 20 hours a week and also complete all work for undergraduate degree to a high standard.
• Running: Enjoy long distance running, especially fell running. Finished in the Top 20 of the Open Women’s section of the 2016 Man Vs. Horse Marathon.
